Cancellation policy
Effective date: 14 September 2026 Last updated: 14 September 2026
This is Fintabb's Purchase Options Cancellation Policy — the standard name for the policy covering cancellation of subscriptions, pre-orders and try-before-you-buy purchases. Fintabb sells fixed-Term licences, not subscriptions, so this document explains what that distinction means for you in practice: how long a Fintabb licence lasts, what happens when it ends, how to renew or change it, and what becomes of your data. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. The most important thing on this page
Fintabb licences do not renew automatically. You will never be charged again without placing a new order.
Your licence runs for the fixed Term you bought — one month, three months or twelve months — and then stops. There is no recurring billing, no stored mandate, no auto-debit, and nothing to cancel to avoid a charge.
If that ever changes, we will tell you clearly before you buy, show you the renewal price and date, and give you a way to switch it off. We will not convert an existing licence to auto-renewal.
2. Licence Terms we sell
| Term | Suits |
|---|---|
| 1 month | Short evaluations beyond the trial, seasonal operations, or a month-to-month approach |
| 3 months | A quarter, or a pilot across a full reporting cycle |
| 12 months | Ongoing use — our best value |
| Free trial (90 days) | Evaluating Fintabb before you spend anything |
Licences are priced per Authorised User; your Order states how many you have.
3. When your Term starts and ends
Your Term starts on the date the licence is issued, which is normally within minutes of payment (see the Shipping Policy), and ends at the close of the last day of the period you bought.
In the Hybrid arrangement there is nothing to schedule and nothing to wait for: you sign up, install the app, and start using it. Your Term therefore begins when you buy.
In the On-Premises arrangement, where the software is deployed onto your own servers, tell us if your environment will not be ready. We will agree a sensible start date with you rather than let your Term run down while you wait for hardware — but ask before the licence is issued, because it is much easier to set than to change.
4. Renewing
To continue past the end of your Term, place a new Order — through fintabb.com, or by contacting us.
Reminders. We will normally email you before your Term expires. This is a courtesy, not a contractual commitment: a reminder that is not delivered, is filtered, or goes to someone who has left your organisation does not extend your Term. Please keep the contact email on your account current, and add support@fintabb.com to your safe-senders list.
Renew before you expire. A renewal placed while your licence is still live simply extends it — nothing is interrupted, and nothing is re-set up.
Renewing after expiry. See Section 6, and note the 30-day window.
Price at renewal. Renewal is at the price in force when you renew. Prices can change, and a change never affects a Term you have already paid for. We will publish any change on fintabb.com.
5. Changing your licence mid-Term
| Change | How it works |
|---|---|
| Adding users | Any time. You pay pro-rata for the remainder of the current Term, so all your users expire together. Delivered within minutes. |
| Removing users | Takes effect at your next renewal. We do not refund users removed mid-Term. |
| Upgrading the Term (e.g. 3 months → 12 months) | Any time. We credit the unused part of your current Term against the new one. |
| Downgrading the Term | At renewal only. |
Contact support@fintabb.com for any of these.
6. When a Term ends — what happens to your access and your data
This is the section to read before you let a licence lapse.
| Period | What you can do |
|---|---|
| During your Term | Full use of the Services |
| Day 0 — the day your Term ends | Sign-in stops. Your data is not deleted |
| Days 1–30 after expiry | Grace period. Your data is retained. Renew and everything resumes exactly as it was. You may also request a full export of your data in this window |
| After day 30 | We may permanently delete your data from our live systems |
Renew within 30 days and nothing is lost. Renew after that and your data may be gone, and we may not be able to recover it.
Exporting. You can export your data yourself from within the Services during the Term, and you may ask us in writing for an export during the 30-day grace period. Please do not leave this to the last day.
Backups. After deletion from live systems, copies may persist in routine backups until those backups expire in the ordinary cycle. We do not restore individual customers from expired backups.
On-Premises customers: your data lives on your own servers and is not affected by licence expiry — we hold nothing to delete. What ends is your right to use the Software, and your entitlement to updates and support. Your own backups and statutory retention remain your responsibility.
7. Cancelling
Because nothing auto-renews, "cancelling" simply means not renewing. There is no subscription to stop and no mandate to revoke.
If you have decided not to continue, please tell us at support@fintabb.com so that we stop sending you renewal reminders, and so we can make sure you have exported everything you need.
Cancelling mid-Term. You may stop using the Services at any time. Your licence runs to the end of its Term. Whether any money comes back is governed entirely by the Refund Policy — in most cases, a Term already paid for is not refundable, but there are defined exceptions, including our own material breach.
8. The free trial
The trial gives one user 90 days of full feature access, with no payment details required.
- Nothing is charged, at any point, and no card is stored.
- It does not convert into a paid licence. When it ends, it ends. If you want to continue, you place an Order.
- Trial data carries over if you buy within 30 days of the trial ending — your setup and entries are preserved. After 30 days, trial data may be deleted.
- One trial per organisation. Talk to us if you genuinely need longer or need more users to evaluate properly — we would rather extend an evaluation than sell you something that turns out not to fit.
9. Suspension, and licences ended by us
We may suspend or end a licence where you materially breach the Terms of Service — for example non-payment, exceeding your licensed user count, or unlawful use. Section 14 of the Terms sets out the notice you will get and your opportunity to put things right.
A licence ended for your breach is not refundable. Your data is retained for the same 30-day period described in Section 6 so that you can export it, unless the law requires otherwise.
If we end a licence for our own convenience, you get a pro-rata refund of the unused Term — see the Refund Policy.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version is always at https://fintabb.com/policies/subscription-policy. For a material change we will give at least 30 days' notice, and the change will not affect a Term you have already paid for.
